Early Years Music Workshops - 9th and 16th December 2025

The Southern Music Project is excited to trial two Early Years Music Workshops for children aged 0–5 years. These child-led sessions will give little ones the chance to explore music through play, movement, and a variety of songs and shaker-style instruments.

Venue: Newlands Primary Academy, Waterlooville, PO7 3FE
Times: 10:15am arrival. Then the session will run from 10:30–11:15am

Places are FREE while we test interest, but each session is limited to 5 children (each accompanied by one parent/guardian). Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and we will contact you to confirm whether you have a workshop place or have been added to the waiting list.

We’ll also be gathering feedback during the sessions to help us understand whether this is something our community would like to see more of. In addition, we will be taking photos during the workshops to help support future promotion.

Festive Fun with Santa - 22nd December 2025

Join us at Leigh Park Library from 11am–1pm for a magical festive celebration! Come and meet Santa, enjoy free gifts, nibble on festive snacks, and even try out some musical instruments as we sing along to your favourite Christmas carols.

This family-friendly event is completely free of charge.
To secure your spot, simply book by messaging via the library’s Facebook page or pop in and speak to a member of staff.

SHYO Winter Concert - 25th January 2026

Join the Southeast Hampshire Youth Orchestra (SHYO) for another concert!

Created by the Southern Music Project CIC and the Havant Symphony Orchestra, SHYO is a student orchestra geared towards students in full-time education and who are are Grade 6+. SHYO aims to fill a gap in the region's youth orchestras, providing students with the opportunity to learn and rehearse orchestral repertoire.

This concert will take place at 5:30pm at the Pallant Centre in Havant, Tickets are £10 and under 18s go free. The programme will feature pieces such as:
