SHYO Concert - Sunday 8th March 2026

Created by the Southern Music Project CIC and the Havant Symphony Orchestra, SHYO is a student orchestra geared towards students in full-time education and who are Grade 6+. SHYO aims to fill a gap in the region's youth orchestras, providing students with the opportunity to learn and rehearse orchestral repertoire.

Our advanced-level Youth Orchestra will participate in a workshop day, followed by an informal performance. It is a smaller programme giving students the chance to work in sections and develop their playing in more detail. We will also be showcasing a student composition, a student soloist and a student conductor.

This concert programme will feature pieces such as:
- Carmen Suite
- Légende, Wiendiawski
- Northern Lights (Premiere Performance)

Schools’ Music Festival - Friday 24th April 2026

Join us for the first-ever Schools’ Music Festival, a vibrant celebration of young musical talent from seven local schools. Featuring two secondary school bands and five primary school choirs, this year’s theme is Colours and inspires a varied and uplifting programme.

Songs include Golden from K Pop Demon Hunters, Blackbird, Yellow Submarine, True Colours, and Mr. Blue Sky, performed by talented young musicians who have been rehearsing throughout the term.

A joyful community music event, bringing schools together to celebrate creativity, confidence and live performance.
